Hyundai weighs dealer sales and financing for robots
Image: Primary Hyundai Motor Group is considering using its automobile dealer network to sell humanoid and quadruped robots, according to comments by CEO Jose Munoz at an investor event.
The company is also examining financing options for the machines through Hyundai Capital. The report says Hyundai plans a factory capable of producing 30,000 Atlas humanoid robots annually by 2028 and aims to begin using Atlas at its Georgia factory that year. The dealer-sales concept remains a future plan, with high robot prices identified as a hurdle.
