OpenAI has selected an 88,000 square foot office development in Dublin's south docklands as its new European headquarters, The Irish Times reported.

The ChatGPT developer said on Monday it will lease space at Iput's Tropical Fruit Warehouse scheme on Sir John Rogerson's Quay. The company also said it will create 250 new jobs in Dublin over the next two years as it builds out the European base.

Emma Redmond, head of OpenAI Ireland, said in a statement that the company continues to invest and grow in Ireland to meet increasing demand across the region, and that the new EU headquarters reflects a long-term commitment. The Irish Times noted OpenAI is backed by Microsoft and led by Sam Altman, and had been seeking a new hub in the capital over the past year.
