# AWS Transform adds cross-region database deployment and seven regions

AWS says Transform for full-stack Windows modernization now supports deploying converted Aurora PostgreSQL databases across regions and is available in seven additional AWS Regions. The changes let customers choose where modernized databases run to meet data residency, latency and disaster recovery requirements.

Customers upload SQL Server database definition files and select a target region in their transformation plan. The workflow converts the database, deploys an Aurora PostgreSQL cluster in a different region and updates dependent .NET applications, including connection strings and database access calls. The service is now available in eight regions, including Frankfurt, Mumbai, Tokyo and Montreal.
