QuEra reports automated laser recovery in 695 of 700 testbed trials

QuEra says an AI-developed controller restored a quantum-computing laser to its target in 695 of 700 testbed trials across seven disturbance classes. Recovery took 0.9 to 5.4 seconds for faults preserving wavelength and roughly 10 to 14 seconds for the hardest faults, compared with 5 to 10 minutes for a human expert. Claude designed, wrote and validated the controller through an interface enforcing hardware safety bounds. A deterministic program runs the resulting controller on the bench. It verifies both the lock signal and absolute wavelength before declaring success; the five misses correctly declined to report success.
