OpenAI and Synopsys announce partnership on chip design model

OpenAI and Synopsys announce partnership on chip design model Image: Primary
OpenAI and Synopsys have announced a multi-year partnership to develop GPT-Synopsys, an AI model for semiconductor design, Phemex reports. The model integrates with Synopsys' electronic design automation tools so agents can execute tasks targeting power, performance and area optimization, then interpret results for iterative improvements. The system runs on OpenAI-hosted infrastructure, with a guarantee that customer design data will not be used for model training. The companies have begun early collaboration with leading semiconductor customers and adopted a revenue-sharing model whose terms are undisclosed.
