# FTC announces more than $15.8 million in refunds for Cleo AI customers

The Federal Trade Commission plans to distribute more than $15.8 million to 2,124,796 Cleo AI customers who paid for eligible instant cash advances. The refunds follow the agency's March 2025 complaint alleging deceptive claims about advance amounts and timing, hidden fees and subscriptions that were difficult to cancel.

Eligible consumers will receive an email by October 26, 2026, and the FTC will begin sending PayPal payments on October 27, 2026. Recipients should redeem payments within 30 days. The complaint alleged that advances advertised as same-day or instant often arrived the next day.
