Apple agrees EU tracking-prompt changes in German competition case
Image: Primary Apple has agreed to change App Tracking Transparency prompts after Germany's Bundeskartellamt concluded that third-party apps faced a stricter consent standard than Apple's own services, according to The Next Web.
The regulator said it would close its investigation in return for binding changes that apply across almost all of the EU. Third-party prompts must become visually and linguistically neutral, and developers may combine Apple's tracking request with their own data-protection prompt. Apple has four months from the formal decision to implement the changes.
