New York metro had 394,300 tech-talent jobs in 2025, exceeding the Bay Area's 375,730 for the first time in CBRE's 13-year series, according to CBRE's 2026 tech-talent report. New York added 30,640 jobs between 2022 and 2025 while the Bay Area lost 23,900. The report still ranks the Bay Area first overall on its broader scorecard, and places its AI workforce above New York's.
