# Developer files plans for staged data center outside Brisbane

Northern Concept Swanb Pty Ltd has filed plans with Ipswich City Council for a 10-story data center on an eight-hectare site in Swanbank, outside Brisbane.

City staff have recommended the project for approval subject to conditions. Planning documents describe a first stage with 80,485 square meters of data-hall space and a second stage with 56,130 square meters. The site is near Powerlink Queensland's Blackstone Substation and a planned 200MW battery storage system.

A local opposition group is campaigning against the proposal.
