Internal Amazon documents suggest its Atlas AI tool forecasts warehouse union activity using social media posts, employee feedback and workplace information, openDemocracy reported. The documents surfaced through a Canadian union's legal challenge and describe warehouse scores from 100 to 900, with lower scores indicating greater likelihood of unionisation or other disruptive labour events.

The documents suggest the scores can inform staffing and resource planning. They classify 16 warehouses in the US, Canada and UK as facing imminent activity, including two UK sites. Amazon says Atlas assesses buildings rather than individual employees, does not track personal data or union membership, and is not currently used in the UK.
