# Vercel adds DeepSeek search and page retrieval to AI Gateway

Vercel announced that DeepSeek Search and DeepSeek Fetch are available through AI Gateway for any model that supports tool calling. Developers can use one Gateway API key without creating a separate DeepSeek account and retain the tools when switching model providers.

Search returns relevant pages with titles, URLs and summaries; Fetch retrieves page content as Markdown for a model to read. Each tool costs $0.75 per 1,000 billable requests, with no tool charge for failures, timeouts or empty results. Model tokens cost extra. Search fallback depends on the model, so provider order and retry limits are best effort.
