# NASA selects Teledyne for lunar power system development

NASA has selected Teledyne Energy Systems for a collaboration to develop its Hydrogen Electrical Power System for space use, the company said. Under a Space Act Agreement, Teledyne will work with NASA's Glenn and Johnson centers to advance the fuel cell system from Technology Readiness Level 5 to Level 7, a target for testing it in conditions more closely resembling its intended use.

The system is designed to supply power without drawing oxygen from the surrounding environment and is intended for future lunar habitats and surface infrastructure. The agreement establishes a development and validation effort; the higher readiness level is a goal, not a result already achieved.
