A one-year Utah program will let Nolla Health's AI examine patients with mild-to-moderate acne and recommend prescriptions from eight approved topical treatments. Patients use the startup's $4.99-per-month app to scan their faces and submit medical histories; the system combines a skin assessment with that information to recommend medication.

Doctors must review the first 100 prescriptions before submission to pharmacies. For the next 400 patients, the AI will submit prescriptions and a physician will review them retrospectively each week. The final phase requires a doctor to review at least 10% of prescriptions monthly.

The program covers topical medications rather than pills and remains limited to acne care.
