Atlassian says its redesigned MCP server is now enabled for Claude and Codex agents in Agentic Pipelines, connecting them to tools across its products. Bitbucket operations use short-lived OAuth tokens scoped to the repository; Jira and Confluence access requires a separate scoped API token.

Teams can configure rules that allow or deny specific agent tools after configuring the agent provider to request permission. Those rules control tool availability but do not grant API access scopes, and Atlassian warns that one scope can permit more tools than its name suggests.

Four tools remain unsupported, including pipeline-failure analysis and declining pull requests. Affected workflows can switch to the legacy server. Rovo Dev CLI agents remain on that server and are unaffected.
