Google Cloud announced general availability of LookML indexing in Knowledge Catalog for Looker Core on Google Cloud. The integration gives Gemini Enterprise and custom agents access to predefined metric formulas, table relationships and data lineage alongside catalog metadata, replacing integrations that captured basic file pointers and dashboard inventories.

Production LookML updates synchronize in near-real-time. Gemini Enterprise can pass the indexed definitions to its federated BigQuery connector, while custom agents can retrieve context through the LookupContext API. Google says users discover and query only assets their existing permissions allow; the integration depends on business logic already defined in LookML.
