Cisco released patches for a reported critical vulnerability in 10 Silicon One-based Nexus 9000 switch models. The flaw, CVE-2026-20212, can allow an unauthenticated attacker able to reach TCP ports 43210 or 43211 to execute code as root; an attempt can also reload the device. Cisco said it was unaware of malicious exploitation as of its September 2 disclosure. The company directs customers to its Software Checker and lists access controls and a temporary Live Protect shield as interim measures.
