Google is automatically expanding AI Overviews at the top of Search results for some queries, placing a full summary and an "Ask anything" box above the usual links. A Google spokesperson said the expansion is dynamic for topics its systems consider useful and is canceled if a user has begun scrolling below the overview. The Verge reported that the behavior was inconsistent across queries and browsers during testing, and Google did not specify the criteria for enabling it.
