Tabcorp acquires tech firm BetMakers for $267m in Gillon McLachlan's first deal
Australia's largest gambling company Tabcorp has agreed to buy listed wagering technology group BetMakers in a deal that values the business at $267 million under a plan to fast-track its technology transformation. Tabcorp announced the agreement on Sunday.
The two companies have entered into a scheme implementation deed after more than nine months of negotiations. BetMakers shareholders will receive 24 cents per share in cash. The offer represents a 41 percent premium to the stock's average price over the past month.
