Ireland's An Coimisiún Pleanála approved AWS's proposed cable landing station in Tullyneasky West, West Cork, rejecting an appeal over safety, traffic, noise and visual concerns. The facility would be the eastern terminal for Amazon's Fastnet subsea cable between Cork and Maryland. AWS still needs a Maritime Area Consent to occupy part of the seabed. The cable is planned for operation in 2028 with more than 320Tbps of capacity.
