# Microsoft previews integrated security operations in Defender

Microsoft has made its integrated security operations center available in preview in Defender. The system brings security event management and threat protection into one environment, giving security staff and AI agents shared information and controls for investigating incidents and taking protective action.

Microsoft says the integration can connect signals, threat context and response tools in a continuous protection loop, reducing the work of assembling those functions across separate systems. The preview follows the company's July introduction of its broader cyber stack and Project Perception; the new integrated environment is still at the preview stage.
