# Waymo opens initial public robotaxi access in three cities

Waymo said it began admitting its first public riders in Denver, San Diego and Tampa on Sept. 1, expanding its fully autonomous trip service to 14 cities. The company said access will be offered gradually to people who registered interest, with wider availability planned over time. Waymo said it had validated its driver on local streets and worked with first responders and local officials before the openings.
