Cloudflare has changed its Containers service so applications can choose an AI agent's sandbox image and computing capacity when a task starts, instead of fixing both at deployment. It has also put filesystem snapshots, which save a workspace for later use, into public beta.

The new scheduling path starts near each sandbox's persistent controller and can restore a prepared virtual machine. In ComputeSDK's independent benchmark of 100 concurrent sandboxes, median time to interaction fell from just over four seconds to 648 milliseconds. Cloudflare says its own preliminary burst test started 100,000 containers in 5.387 seconds across six locations; that larger-scale result is company-reported.
