Oracle and We Energies announced an October 2 agreement for Oracle to subscribe to 10-20% of Point Beach Nuclear Plant's output, or 125-250 megawatts, Yahoo Finance reports. The power is earmarked for the $15 billion Lighthouse Campus AI data center project in Port Washington, Wisconsin, co-developed by Oracle, OpenAI and Vantage Data Centers, with completion targeted for 2028. Oracle has committed to funding energy costs for its portion of the project. The deal nevertheless accounts for roughly 20% of a proposed $176 million electric rate increase for We Energies customers in 2027. The utility projects approximately $300 million in customer fuel savings between 2027 and 2033.
