Google expands Knowledge Catalog support for enterprise metric definitions

Google expands Knowledge Catalog support for enterprise metric definitions Image: Primary
Google Cloud made expanded semantic model support generally available in Knowledge Catalog, allowing AI agents to use business metric definitions from Looker, BigQuery Graph, dbt MetricFlow, Snowflake, Databricks and SAP. The service connects those definitions with schemas, data lineage and quality information without moving data or rewriting business logic. The catalog builds a connected map that lets agents find metric formulas, filters and relationships between tables. Gemini, BigQuery Conversational Analytics and custom agents can consume that context. When systems define the same metric differently, the catalog preserves both definitions and their origins for data stewards to reconcile. Knowledge Studio, the interface for exploring and managing the context, remains in preview.
