Ventures Platform raises $83 million second Africa fund
Image: Primary Nigeria-headquartered Ventures Platform has raised an oversubscribed $83 million second fund, expanding its investment mandate beyond its home market.
The firm previously raised a $46 million first fund in 2022, focused primarily on pre-seed and seed rounds. It says Fund II has already invested in five companies in Kenya, South Africa and Egypt, with planned checks of up to $3 million and capital intended for deployment over three to four years.
Its targets include fintech, healthcare, SaaS and AI-related businesses.
