Telxius is building a carrier-neutral cable landing station and edge data center in Cancún, Mexico. The facility will be the Mexican landing point for the Tikal submarine cable, which is scheduled to enter service in the first half of 2027 and is designed for an initial 380Tbps backbone capacity between Guatemala and Florida.

Telxius says the site will combine submarine connectivity, terrestrial networks and computing capacity, while providing an alternate route to Santiago de Querétaro. Construction timing and data-center capacity were not provided.
