D-Wave opens beta simulator for error-aware quantum programs

D-Wave opens beta simulator for error-aware quantum programs Image: Primary
D-Wave announced a beta program for a gate-model quantum computing simulator that lets customers test programs with errors taken into account. The simulator models the company's dual-rail superconducting technology, which is designed to detect and correct errors as hardware scales. Participants include BBVA, FirstQFM, Florida Atlantic University and the Jülich Supercomputing Centre. Florida Atlantic University plans to investigate how quantum machine learning behaves under realistic hardware constraints and whether approaches using fewer qubits can improve robustness. The beta provides access to a simulator; D-Wave describes fault-tolerant gate-model computing as a goal on its development roadmap.
