Claude Now Lets You Import Your ChatGPT Memories and Preferences

Anthropic has added a feature to Claude that allows users to copy their saved memories and preferences from ChatGPT, ZDNet reports. The migration tool is designed to reduce the friction of switching between AI assistants by preserving the personalization data users have built up over time. The move is a competitive shot at OpenAI: it directly addresses one of the practical barriers to switching from ChatGPT, which has a larger installed base of regular paying users. As the AI assistant market matures, user personalization data is becoming a form of lock-in, and Anthropic's decision to actively help users port that data signals a deliberate strategy of competing for ChatGPT's customer base rather than waiting for users to discover Claude independently.
