AWS opens Amazon Linux 2027 public preview

AWS has made Amazon Linux 2027 available in public preview across all commercial AWS Regions, with x86-64 and ARM preview AMIs and container base images in Amazon ECR Public Gallery. AWS says the operating system is built on the Amazon Linux 2023 baseline for cloud-native workloads and includes kernel 7.1 or later, SELinux enforcing mode by default, AWS-LC cryptographic acceleration and current toolchains. The preview also provides accelerator-driver access, including AWS Neuron support for AI and machine-learning workloads. General availability has not been announced.
