A bookseller who placed an AirTag in a rare book traced it to Amazon's VGT3 warehouse in Las Vegas, according to reporting by 404 Media cited by The Next Web.

Employees told the outlet that shipments of printed books are processed by removing bindings so pages can be scanned, leaving the books destroyed. Amazon declined to discuss the finding, saying it purchases books through commercial channels to develop and improve customer products and services. Its statement did not specify an AI use.
