Uber reportedly backs limits on robotaxi operations Image: Primary
Uber has reportedly backed New Jersey legislation requiring robotaxi services to use a human driver on at least 85% of trips, according to Gizmodo's account of Financial Times reporting. The article also says Uber signed onto a bill that would block autonomous vehicles from Washington, D.C. roads. Driver unions are pursuing related restrictions in Atlanta, including a proposed per-ride robotaxi fee for a driver transition fund. Gizmodo says Uber did not respond to its request for comment on the lobbying efforts.
