ChatGPT adds opt-in activity history for eligible Mac users
Image: Primary ChatGPT's Mac desktop app has introduced an opt-in Computer History feature for Pro, Business and Enterprise users, according to the report.
The feature logs interaction events from allowed apps and websites, such as clicks, keystrokes, shortcuts and app switches, then uses them to create searchable memory. It does not capture screenshots, audio or microphone input. The report says event files are retained locally for up to 48 hours while they are sent to OpenAI servers for processing, and generated memories are stored locally as plain-text Markdown files. Business and Enterprise access requires administrator approval.
