Numica has raised $21M in equity and debt from Roosh X and Flashpoint Capital to acquire more small US accounting firms, The Next Web reports. The New York startup targets practices with annual revenue of $700,000 to $5m, often owned by accountants approaching retirement.

After acquisitions, Numica moves clients, staff and workflows onto its AI platform for bookkeeping, billing, practice management and tax filing, with accountants checking its output. It has bought seven practices. Numica says its first acquisition's profit margin rose from 37% to 52% within two months.
