WASHINGTON -- The United States lifted its export controls on Anthropic's advanced Mythos and Fable artificial intelligence models after the company added more safeguards to the system, the Washington Examiner reported. Anthropic said it received notice that the Department of Commerce has lifted export controls on Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5. The U.S. had implemented a ban on the use of the two models on June 12, resulting in the company pulling their availability. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick rescinded the bans on Tuesday, and Anthropic said access to the models would be restored on Wednesday.
