# Nvidia makes Kubernetes node management tool available as open source

Nvidia has made NodeWright available as an open-source tool for configuring and updating the operating systems of Kubernetes nodes, the company said. Previously used inside Nvidia as Skyhook, it coordinates changes across a fleet while accounting for workloads that must finish before a node is drained or rebooted.

Operators can roll out packages in batches, verify each change and stop a rollout when checks fail. The tool can also hold newly provisioned nodes out of service until required configuration passes validation. NodeWright manages the host operating system; Nvidia's GPU and network operators remain separate.
