# Grid-Orch preprint shows faster distribution grid analysis through natural language

Researchers report that Grid-Orch completed a distribution grid analysis in under two minutes through natural language, compared with hours of scripting for the demonstrated workflow. Its results were numerically identical to those from direct OpenDSS scripting.

The system connects language models to 36 simulation tools for tasks including power flow, voltage analysis and interconnection screening. It can use locally deployed models, allowing operation without an internet connection in security-sensitive utility environments. The reported speed and accuracy come from workflow demonstrations, rather than utility deployments.
