The University of Copenhagen said Tuesday that activity prompting Monday's shutdown of administrative systems was linked to its previously disclosed cyberattack, rather than a second attack, Help Net Security reported. Workzone, Nimbus and other systems were taken offline preventively, and some systems remain disrupted.

The original breach exposed personal data belonging to some 525,000 people. The university said the revised assessment did not remove the need for the shutdown. It also replaced compromised ID-card PIN codes for about 20,000 staff and students, allowing restricted campus locations to reopen.
