Eskenazi Health discloses cloud-account breach involving patient records

The Indianapolis health system says accessible material included Social Security numbers, medical records, insurance and billing information, and substance use disorder diagnosis and treatment information; exposure varies by individual.
The phishing message came from a trusted business contact's compromised account. Unauthorized access lasted from June 1 to July 27, when Eskenazi detected suspicious activity and terminated access. Affected people are being offered free identity protection and credit monitoring.
