# AWS adds Braket to FedRAMP Class C scope in three US regions

AWS says Amazon Braket is now within FedRAMP Class C scope in three US regions, allowing government customers and organizations serving them to explore quantum computing within an authorized cloud boundary. FedRAMP standardizes security assessment, authorization and continuous monitoring for cloud services used by the US government.

The boundary covers AWS-operated components, including software interfaces, job management, compilation and result storage in Amazon S3. Quantum workloads execute on third-party hardware outside that boundary. AWS says data sent to those providers has personally identifiable information removed and is encrypted in transit and at rest. The authorization covers Northern Virginia, Northern California and Oregon.
