U.S. data-center gas forecast rises to 15 billion cubic feet a day

U.S. data centers are projected to consume as much as 15 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day by 2035, according to a Bloomberg forecast cited by Tom's Hardware. That is a 117% increase from a prior forecast of 6.9 billion cubic feet a day. The article says projects have already been delayed by unavailable power infrastructure, helping drive interest in onsite gas-turbine generation. It also says projected domestic output growth may still leave demand about 11 billion cubic feet a day short of supply.
