OpenAI reportedly accelerates funding talks for about $30bn

OpenAI reportedly accelerates funding talks for about $30bn Image: Primary
OpenAI is trying to accelerate a funding round of about $30bn to secure investor commitments before Anthropic's planned mid-November listing, The Next Web reports, citing Reuters. The round could value OpenAI at more than $1.4 trillion. Existing backers SoftBank Group and MGX are in talks to participate. OpenAI also met long-only funds and sovereign wealth funds last week, as both AI companies court many of the same investors. The money would help OpenAI meet infrastructure commitments and strengthen its finances if a weaker IPO market delays its planned 2027 listing. OpenAI and SoftBank declined to comment to Reuters.
