Z.AI, also known as Zhipu, confirmed that the previously uncredited Ox Alpha model is a new GLM-series iteration and said it plans to release the model's weights later Wednesday.

The reasoning model emerged on OpenRouter over the weekend, where it was free to use and rose to the marketplace's top usage spot, according to the report. Its description says it is intended for coding and agentic tasks and accepts text, image and video input.

Releasing the weights would let developers build products on top of the model.
