Nvidia reports 22x Spark job speedup after agents rewrite custom functions

Nvidia reports 22x Spark job speedup after agents rewrite custom functions Image: Primary
Nvidia says a major consumer technology company used its agent workflow to convert 30+ custom Apache Spark functions in production data pipelines into GPU implementations. One job achieved a 22x speedup after a function affecting more than 3,000+ jobs was rewritten. Custom functions can force otherwise GPU-accelerated queries to transfer data and execute on CPUs. The workflow guides coding agents through testing, conversion, benchmarking and optimization, using executable checks to validate results. Nvidia provides the skills on GitHub with project templates and test harnesses. The 22x result comes from one workload; rewrites require careful selection of programming interfaces, validation of equivalent behavior and performance measurement.
