Court records reveal ICE surveillance of Minnesota activists' digital networks

Court records reveal ICE surveillance of Minnesota activists' digital networks Image: Primary
Records obtained by defense attorneys for 15 Minnesota residents reveal ICE's use of infiltrated Signal chats, cloud service records and commercial databases to investigate activists, WIRED reported. Investigators gathered 15 terabytes of Signal chats and used unarmed Reaper drone footage during the investigation. Agents combined cloud account information, Stripe data and commercial broker records with state vehicle records to identify individuals. Prosecutors allege a conspiracy to obstruct immigration enforcement and stalk federal agents; defense attorneys dispute whether the charges fit the conduct. The records show undercover agents entered activists' chats and transmitted their contents to investigators.
