AWS adds Claude Sonnet 5.5 to GovCloud

AWS says Claude Sonnet 5.5 is now available through Amazon Bedrock in AWS GovCloud (US), extending access to the model for customers using that cloud environment. Bedrock provides the model within AWS infrastructure with regional data residency, alongside AWS-managed features including Guardrails and Knowledge Bases. AWS describes Sonnet 5.5 as suited to coding tasks such as building and fixing features, as well as document and spreadsheet work. The announcement establishes GovCloud availability; its claims of faster performance and lower cost per task are AWS's descriptions, without figures in this announcement.
