# Meta plans private processing for smart-glasses translation

Meta said it will offer private processing for some AI features in its smart glasses, starting with live translation. At its Connect event, CEO Mark Zuckerberg also promised a future version of the Muse assistant with added encryption intended to prevent Meta from accessing user data.

Muse currently runs on a dedicated computer in the cloud, which Meta calls Muse Secure VM. The announcements address how the company processes information captured by its glasses and assistant amid criticism of smart-glasses privacy. The stronger encryption remains a future feature.
