# Korean industry group seeks faster infrastructure work for Yongin chip cluster

The Federation of Korean Industries submitted 41 policy proposals to South Korean lawmakers and a regulatory committee, warning that unfinished roads, water systems and power arrangements could disrupt strategic-technology investment. Its semiconductor proposals include accelerating work on the main access road before Yongin's first fabrication plant starts operating in February and shortening approvals for industrial-water projects.

The group also proposed carbon-free electricity certification and phased direct purchases, measures intended to help suppliers document power sources for customers such as Google and Microsoft. These are industry requests, not adopted policy; 21 would require legislation, while the group says 20 could proceed without new laws.
