A total of 368 utility-scale US power plants began operating from January through June, according to Energy Information Administration data cited by Ars Technica.

Solar dominated the additions, with 207 projects, followed by 95 battery projects. The list included the two SunZia wind farms in New Mexico, with combined capacity of 3,650 megawatts; Ohio's 900-megawatt Trumbull Energy Center; and Utah's Green River Energy Center, which includes 400 megawatts each of solar and batteries.
