Darkbloom warns Mac compute operators of falling inference revenue

AI inference GPU rental prices falling Image: Primary
Darkbloom has warned members who rent out spare Mac computing capacity that falling AI token prices will reduce their revenue, Tom's Hardware reported. Its primary client, OpenRouter, has also started prioritizing processing speed and model compression, putting operators without top-end Max or Ultra Apple chips at a disadvantage. The network is analyzing model demand to guide operators toward workloads customers want. It is also exploring distributed software build and deployment jobs, network improvements and clients beyond OpenRouter. The article's projected earnings of $36.77 per month assume a 77% price decline; they are not reported operator receipts.
