Pocket Bitcoin reported that an August data breach affected 5,120 customers and exposed more sensitive information, including identity documents, for another 291.

The Swiss Bitcoin financial-services provider said names, addresses and bank-transfer details were exposed through bank correspondence in its support system. It said its main databases, customer transaction databases and private keys were not compromised, and that it had reported the incident to data-protection authorities in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.

The company said it had no evidence the leaked data had been misused.
